Dr. Donald R. Chambers serves as the Chief Investment Officer – Biltmore Select Portfolios. He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.

Dr. Chambers has served in a variety of academic and industry positions including his work as the Associate Director of Programs at the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association. He previously worked at Karpus Investment Management in New York for 16 years as a Principal, Director of Alternative Investments and Director of Equities.

Dr. Chambers has also consulted for The Bank of New York on risk management regarding the bank’s diverse operations, involving credit risk, event risk, capital cost allocation, operational risk and liquidity risk.

He has enjoyed a distinguished academic career in finance as the Walter E. Hanson KPMG Professor of Finance at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, and before that as the Frank Baker Research Chair in Finance at the University of Baltimore.

Dr. Chambers has been featured on CNBC and has published over fifty articles and books on investments, corporate finance and risk management. Most recently, he co-authored the third edition of “An Introduction to Core Topics in Alternative Investments” and the seventh edition of “Modern Corporate Finance: Theory and Practice”.

He received a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S. in Accounting from Binghamton University.
